Air India Express Hyderabad–Phuket Flight Diverted Back to Hyderabad Mid-Route

The flight returned to Hyderabad shortly after takeoff on Saturday (July 19, 2025). Air India Express has issued a statement on this incident and an alternate flight has been arranged. Passenger’s safety is paramount and that is why they made the decision.

According to flight tracking data from FlightRadar24, the aircraft took off at 6:40 a.m. after which airborne for 17 minutes had reached a height of 10,000 feet. Before returning to the base. The aircraft landed safely in Hyderabad at 6:57 a.m.

One of our flights returned to Hyderabad shortly after take-off due to a technical issue. The crew elected to return out of an abundance of caution. An alternative aircraft was arranged, and the flight has since departed. Refreshments were provided to guests during the delay. “We regret the inconvenience caused and reiterate that safety remains our top priority in every aspect of our operations,” said a statement from an Air India Express spokesperson.

Radar24 showed there was another flight arranged for passenger takeoff at 1:26 p.m and landing at 6:34 p.m.

Of course, a lot of inconvenience has been caused to all the passengers, but Air India says that safety is paramount.
