India Extends Airspace Ban on Pakistani Breakouts Till Sept. 24

Airspace Ban
SHARE

India has extended its airspace restrictions on Pakistani breakouts until September 24, 2025 due to indigenous security and bilateral pressures.

Impact after Airspace Ban

Pakistani carriers are banned from flying flight directly over Indian airspace. The extension requires Pakistan- grounded airlines to use longer alternate routes, which adds time and energy costs to certain transnational sectors.

Review

The restriction is reviewed regularly by aeronautics and defense authorities in India. Any decision on whether the ban will be extended beyond September 24 will depend upon the security situation and politic developments.

Passenger Advisory

Passengers traveling via Pakistan International Airlines should anticipate detainments as a result of this airspace ban.
