IndiGo Begins Flights to 9 Cities from Ghaziabad’s Hindon Airport — Inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu

Indigo will fly to nine cities from Ghaziabad. Indigo flights have also started from Ghaziabad’s Hindon Airport. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu started these flights to nine cities in the country. 

Earlier, Air India Express started flying from here. Hindon Airport has been developed under the Udan scheme and, after IGI Airport, it is now emerging as the second major air travel hub of NCR. Air travel has now become even easier for the people of Delhi NCR. Indigo has started its flights to nine major cities on Saturday from Ghaziabad-based Indian Airport.

On this occasion, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated these routes from Kinjra to Pune. Now people will also get relief from the crowd at Delhi Airport. 

According to the report, Indigo will now connect Hindon Airport with Bengaluru, Kolkata, Varanasi, Patna, Chennai, Goa, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Indore. Earlier, Air India Express had started flights from Hindon and now IndiGo has become the second major airline to operate from this airport. Describing it as the success of the Udan scheme, the minister said that this is not just the flight of Hindon or Western Uttar Pradesh, but of the entire country. This is the flight of our Indian ambitions and hopes. He said that in the last decade, the number of airlines, airport capacity and number of passengers in the country have doubled.

The development work of Hindon Airport started in 2019 under the Udan scheme. On which about ₹ 50 crore was spent. In 2019, only 8000 passengers will fly annually from this airport, built with the cooperation of the Air Force. Now this figure has crossed 80,000. The central government has announced special incentives for the aviation sector in the budget of 2025-26. A target has been set to add 120 new destinations and reach 4 crore passengers in the next 10 years. The government is working towards making India a global aviation hub by 2030.
