Direct Flights to 10 Major Cities
Within 45 days of inauguration, flight operations will begin, connecting Noida to 10 key Indian cities. In the first phase, passengers will enjoy direct connectivity to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, followed by additional destinations in the rollout plan.
Negotiations with IndiGo and Air India Express have been finalized, and both airlines will operate the initial routes. The airport will also play a vital role in cargo movement, supporting the government’s vision of “Vocal for Local” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” by strengthening import-export operations.
Preparations and High-Profile Inauguration
On September 11, 2024, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the site to review the progress. With construction now complete, finishing touches are underway, including the runway, terminal interiors, and support infrastructure.
The Air Traffic Control tower is fully ready, and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has issued the mandatory security license. The airport has been designed with a capacity to handle 12 million passengers annually in the first phase, with an estimated 6–7 lakh passengers expected in the first year of operations.
The inauguration ceremony is likely to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with CM Yogi Adityanath, Union ministers, MPs, and other dignitaries.
A Long-Awaited Project
The foundation stone for the project was laid on November 25, 2021, and since then, residents of Noida and Western Uttar Pradesh have eagerly awaited the opening. The new airport will not only ease congestion at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport but also bring world-class infrastructure closer to millions of people in NCR and beyond.
With its modern design, focus on cargo, and state-of-the-art facilities, Noida International Airport is poised to become a game-changer for India’s aviation landscape.
