On 23 July 2025, a technical snag was detected in a Ahmedabad to Diu flight (VT-IYA) which is an Indigo flight (6E-7966). It seems the snag was detected just before the takeoff.
The flight crew informed the authorities and the flight has now returned to the base for its checks. All 60 passengers are safe.
IndiGo has emphasized that the safety of passengers and crew is its top priority. That’s why, upon detecting a technical snag the pilot sent “Mayday” call to the air traffic control.
The flight ATR72 was scheduled to operate from Ahmedabad at 11 am, but the issue was identified just before takeoff. IndiGo has clearly stated that it will not operate the flight until the maintenance work is completed and the necessary clearance for takeoff is granted.
In the meantime, the airline is either issuing refunds or arranging alternative journeys for the affected passengers.
The specifics of the technical snack is yet to come out either from Indigo or from Ahmedabad airport authority.
